An Australian marketplace just for leftover building materials. Offcuts, over-orders, the half pack of tiles at the end of a job, ex-display and discontinued stock.. the stuff that's too good to bin but too annoying to store. List it, someone nearby who actually needs it comes and grabs it, and it's cash in your pocket instead of a tip fee.

You can, and plenty do. But your materials end up buried between used couches and car parts, half the messages are bots asking “is this available” at midnight, and nobody is running the place. Overrun is only building materials, so everyone browsing is a tradie or renovator after exactly what you're selling. Listings are searchable by material and location instead of vanishing down a feed, sellers can carry an ABN-verified badge, and it's run by an actual person.. reports come straight to me and dodgy sellers get banned.

A group is a feed, not a marketplace. A listing gets buried within days, there's no search worth using, and Facebook only shows each post to a fraction of members. A group also needs someone approving members and policing posts forever, for free. Here that's the platform's job.

Yes. You'll see the first few listings straight away, and a free account opens up the whole catalogue.. free forever, no card, no plan. You only need to pay when you want to list something or message a seller.

Because of how this gear actually changes hands.. “come grab it Saturday, cash or bank transfer in the driveway”. A percentage cut only works if every payment runs through the platform, which means online payments, held funds and fees on every sale, and people would just do the deal off platform anyway. The flat plan means you list as much as you want and every dollar of every sale is yours.

Fair. A casual option for occasional sellers is on the roadmap.. it came straight from feedback in the trade groups. In the meantime the codes below make it free for 3 months, so listing costs you nothing while you see if it's worth it.

3 months completely free, no card details upfront. 3FREETRADIE for the Tradie plan, 3FREECREW for the Crew plan. If it sells your offcuts, the plan pays for itself in a sale. If it doesn't, you've lost nothing.

Tradie is $19/month. Crew is $49/month. Both are GST-inclusive, both are cancel-anytime, and neither takes commission on what you sell.

Everything you need to buy and sell is on the Tradie plan: unlimited listings, unlimited browsing, messaging with buyers and sellers, pickup or delivery options, and the ABN-verified badge. There's no listing cap on either plan — if you're on Tradie and moving a lot of material, you won't hit a wall.

Crew adds featured placement. Your listings can appear in the Featured strip at the top of the browse page, above the search results. It's a rotating spot shared between Crew members, and every member gets equal airtime regardless of how many listings they feature — so a business with forty listings doesn't crowd out one with two.

Crew members also get priority on support enquiries.

Only if the featured placement is worth $30 a month to you.

Crew is aimed at businesses moving volume across multiple sites, where getting a pallet of surplus in front of buyers quickly is worth paying for. If you're a solo tradie listing the occasional offcut, Tradie does everything you need and we'd rather you stayed on it.

No. Both paid plans are unlimited. There were caps of 20 and 100 listings early on — they're gone.

Honest answer: that risk exists anywhere secondhand gear is sold.. Marketplace, Gumtree, eBay, the classifieds back in the day. The question is what the platform does about it. Here, sellers can verify their ABN and the badge shows on their listings, so you can see who you're buying from and stick to verified businesses if you want. Every report comes straight to me, dodgy listings get pulled and sellers get banned. Stolen gear gets moved where nobody's watching. Someone's watching here.

Sellers can verify their Australian Business Number and get a badge on their listings, along with the business name their ABN is registered under. It's optional, but it shows buyers there's a real business behind the listing.

Hit report on the listing or the seller. It comes straight to me, not into a queue nobody reads, and I act on every one.

Leftover and surplus building materials: timber, tiles, plasterboard, bricks, fittings, fixtures, decking, insulation.. if it was headed for the skip and someone could still build with it, list it.

Directly between you and the buyer, however suits you both.. cash, bank transfer, card if you sort it yourselves. Overrun doesn't sit in the middle of the money, which is exactly why we don't clip every sale.

As long as you want it up. Listings don't expire.. yours stays live until you mark it sold or delete it. If it's gone, mark it sold so buyers stop enquiring about it. You can unmark it later if the deal falls through.

Yes, for your membership. Every Overrun payment generates a GST tax invoice from Stripe, emailed to you and downloadable any time from Manage billing in your account. Add your ABN at checkout and it appears on the invoice.

Sales between members are a different matter. Overrun doesn't process payments between buyers and sellers, so we can't invoice for them.. if you're selling, you issue your own invoice or receipt to the buyer, same as any other cash or bank transfer job.

Browsing is free.. you just need a free account to see everything. To message a seller and arrange a pickup you'll need a Tradie plan.
